Lately, the most unexpected events around the globe have been increasingly surprising.
It’s about beauty pageants, where a growing number of bold contestants try to demonstrate that beauty is a relative concept.
Chiara Bordy, an 18-year-old contestant in the “Miss Italy” beauty pageant, has caught everyone’s attention.
She made history as the first contestant with a disability to participate in a beauty competition. The young woman lives with one leg.
At the age of thirteen, she lost her left leg. The girl was hit by a car while riding a bicycle. The healing process was extremely challenging for Chiara, especially mentally.
Adapting to her new identity, the young girl entered the competition, not to win, but rather to show others that life is beautiful in any circumstance.
No one expected Chiara to reach the final, it was a surprise for everyone. According to the jury’s decision, Chiara Bordy won third place.
“I got third place. I am incredibly happy because it has been an immense experience and an indescribable pleasure that I have lived after a few days of effort.”
What is curious about this story is that the young girl faced harsh criticism. Some believe that if she went so far, it’s because the jury felt pity for her.
“I am without legs, and you are without heart and without spirit,” she replied to such remarks.
