In Mali, a country in West Africa, a young woman named Halima gave birth to nine children at the same time.
For most people, even the birth of twins or a triple is a curious event.
But the case of this twenty-year-old Malian mother is quite rare in the history of humanity as well as in medicine.
In Mali, it is believed that this heroine mother is very happy to give birth to so many babies.
The children, four boys and five girls, are in good health. During her pregnancy, the woman was under medical supervision to avoid adverse cases.
Halima underwent a C-section and luckily all the babies survived.
When they were born, each of them weighed half a kilo. First, the little ones stayed in the hospital in oxygen rooms.
But little by little, as the newborns grew older and the danger lessened, they returned home.
Neonatologists confirm that this is an absolutely unique case, having all nine babies born healthy.
And none of them were defective. They indicate that such births are for once in a lifetime.
Young parents are very happy for their sons and daughters who have given new meaning to their lives.
Some doctors note that the African origin of the couple played a big role in the birth of such a number of children.
But there are others who confirm that nationality has no connection with this exceptional phenomenon.
