There are people who serve God and the Church throughout their entire lives.
However, there are also clergy members who can no longer continue their mission and, by resigning, leave the religious life behind.
The hero of our story is a living example of this. This man is Father Christophe Chatillon, the rector of the Cathedral of Orléans.
He dedicated himself to the religion in 1999 and has devoted his life to the Lord for 25 years.
Father Christophe was a very faithful priest of the Church and preached the Word of God before becoming the rector of the Cathedral of Sainte-Croix in Orléans.
However, recently Chatillon announced that he would resign because, after careful consideration, he decided to change his lifestyle and no longer confine himself to a double life.
The priest wanted to shed his religious attire and leave the Church because of a woman he had fallen in love with, and he stated that this love was reciprocated.
“In consultation with Father Blaquart, I choose to leave the ministry in full freedom,” he said.
This decision greatly saddened Bishop Blaquart.
On the official website of the diocese, Monsignor published a statement in which he wrote that this news had deeply saddened him.
The former priest explained that religion had been his vocation, but now that he had met this woman, he had experienced a strong love that he could not resist.
