I never imagined that my life would take such a turn, that I would be raising the daughter of my husband’s ex-lover. It all started when Kevin and I tried for our own child, but my body couldn’t carry a baby – that’s what a doctor told us.
When we went to another doctor for further testing, it turned out that our blood types were incompatible, making it impossible for us to have a child together.
Kevin blamed me for everything and used that as an excuse to justify his infidelity, which he spread all over town. I was blinded by love and forgave him for all his betrayals, blaming myself for our inability to have children.
Looking back, I realize that Kevin was a cheating scoundrel who should have been kicked out of our house. When his ex-lover became pregnant, she decided to keep the child, but Kevin refused to take responsibility.
However, after the ex-lover died during childbirth, Kevin was granted custody of the child.
He brought her back to our home and legally designated me as her mother. I took the child in as my own and thought she would bring us together and
would bring me the joy of motherhood. Unfortunately, Kevin got tired of the baby’s nighttime crying and left me with her, saying he was going to find a new love.
I fell into depression, but a friend forced me to seek therapy and helped me through difficult times. There were times when I lost touch with reality, like when I accidentally burned Leia’s tongue while feeding her.
However, a doctor named Orest came to our aid and examined Leia.
From that day on, he became our regular visitor, and eventually, we fell in love and got married. Leia grew up healthy, and soon Orest and I were able to have our own child without any intervention.
Now we are expecting our second child and we couldn’t be happier. Leia doesn’t even suspect that she is not my biological child because she is the closest person to me and always will be.
