Unequal marriages are quite common and the most common type of misalliance is that of a young girl marrying a rich old man.
But there are other stories too. Susan and Peter are not at all a typical example. He is a young, handsome and promising guy, she is a divorced woman of age with two adult children. These two got married and aren’t going anywhere yet.
Peter first saw Susan when he was 16. The woman was a friend of the guy’s mother and taught Spanish.
She had the most ordinary unremarkable appearance and an average income, that is, she did not have brilliant beauty or a huge fortune.
But Peter saw Susan as an attractive woman and almost immediately fell in love with her. However, the guy did not dare to confess his feelings and was afraid of the huge age difference – up to 33 years old.
Peter hid his love, but enrolled in a Spanish course to be close to his lover, who suspected nothing of a young admirer.
The guy didn’t like a foreign language, but his goal was completely different. He just wanted to be closer to Susan.
When Peter was 18, he gathered his courage and confessed his love to Susan. She was surprised, but did not refuse the guy in love, but asked to give him time to think.
And there really was reason to think, because the woman was afraid of the reaction of those close to her and the condemnation of others.
And yet, feelings prevailed over stereotypes. Peter, 19, and Susan, 52, got married.
The woman’s children approved of the marriage, but the rest of the family was against this unequal and strange union. But the couple decided to go against everyone and find happiness.
Susan and Peter have been happily together for six years and there are no serious rifts in their family. Three years after the marriage, the couple had a baby born via a surrogate mother.
Both spouses are happy and think nothing of evil. And this proves once again that in our life there is a place for real and sincere feelings that can arise contrary to stereotypes and public opinion.
