This guy’s name is definitely synonymous with animal lover.
His name is Tony Alsup and his love for animals has driven him to spend his savings and risk his own life to travel to areas affected by natural disasters, just to rescue animals left behind by their owners.
All these poor creatures he managed to save were dropped off in Foley, Alabama. From there, the animals will be placed in shelters across the country for adoption.
It all started with a misunderstanding during Hurricane Harvey in Houston when he saw a Facebook post online asking if anyone could help assess pets out of the storm’s path, according to Shareably Media.
Back then, Alsup took his bus and went to save as many animals as he could. The rest is history.
However, since transporting animals in the back of his tractor-trailer wasn’t safe, Tony knew he needed something safer.
So he spent $3,200 of his savings on an old school bus and drove to Texas to fill it with pets.
“You have to be very careful what you say on social media,” Alsup said, “but I’m a man of my word.
If I give you my word, it will happen. So I said, you know what, why don’t I just go buy a bus?
