Sisters Lauren Brennan, 20, and Lily Brennan, 17, gave birth for the first time just hours apart in the same clinic.
On March 23, Lauren was admitted to the Liverpool Women’s Hospital, 12 days ahead of her sister’s due date.
While Lily’s son was eager to meet his cousin and was born on the same day.
Philip Brennan, 47, father and grandfather of the family, was overjoyed.
He had been eagerly waiting for the day he could become a grandfather for what felt like an eternity.
When the girls shared the news of their pregnancies with him, Phillip said he fully supported them. He later learned that Lily had tried to hide the news from him.
He recalled the day when Lauren was sitting on the couch in tears as she shared her delicate condition with him.
The father comforted his daughter, saying that it was life and couldn’t be changed.
A few months later, he discovered Lily’s secret, as she had been hesitant to share it with him.
Knocking on her door, he asked if she had something to tell him. The daughter’s response was affirmative.
According to Phillip, it is vital to provide for the needs of the children.
Phillip recounted that on that eventful day, he and his wife Karen took Lauren to the hospital.
He returned home only to find out that Lily also needed to be transported to the clinic.
Lily’s delivery was unexpected, as it was anticipated to happen the following Friday.
It was a truly chaotic evening. Karen was torn between her two daughters.
Lily’s son, Jaiden, weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. He was born at 12:19 p.m.
Five hours later, at 7:31 p.m., Lauren gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Sofia.
Fortunately, the sisters and their little ones are now doing well.
