This young mother became emotional when she saw trisomic dolls for sale at her local Kmart store in Australia.
Brodee, 20 years old, has a three-year-old son named Elijah, who was born with the condition.
So, when she heard about Kmart’s new toy collection, she rushed to the store to buy a couple for her child.
The store sells each toy for $15.
In an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, Brodee said that she actually bought a doll with Down syndrome features for her cousin in 2019.
However, that one was much more expensive, priced at $100.
This is not the first time the mother-son duo has made headlines.
Three years ago, they made headlines when Brodee had to celebrate her 12th year at the USIN with her baby.
Elijah needed surgery for duodenal atresia – a blockage in the intestine – after his birth.
So, Brodee’s mother, Jodie, surprised her with a baby Elijah dressed in a little tuxedo with a chocolate rose.
“I hope that these dolls sitting next to typical everyday dolls on the shelves will show children that we are all the same, regardless of disability, skin color, or even hair – we are all the same but different in our own ways.”
