One reads or hears news that gives us hope that there are still kind-hearted people in reality. It is a joyful fact that nowadays many children are also kind-hearted.
The little hero of our story proves all of this. Connor Fitzgerald, an 11-year-old boy from California, liked to go for walks and play in the sand with his friends.
On that day, the boys decided to play a peculiar and unusual game that surprisingly ended up saving someone’s life.
They decided to compete to see who could break the ground and dig a bigger hole faster. The boys quickly got to work.
As Connor began to dig a hole, he noticed a head under the sand. He got scared but realized that it was the head of a little girl.
The boy approached and was already convinced that this girl needed help.
With no time to spare, he didn’t call anyone and started digging the girl out by himself. When he released the child, he noticed that she was still alive.
From television shows, he already knew what to do in such cases and started performing CPR on the girl.
Fortunately, the girl started breathing, and the adults arrived and took her to the hospital.
It became clear that the girl was only 5 years old and her name was Alyssa Bostick.
She had remained buried under the sand because of the sandbox.
Not every child is capable of acting rationally in such critical situations, which is why the boy’s parents suggest to all parents the importance of teaching children what to do because they are not always with them.
