Many young people are often accused of not wanting to work.
But the hero of our story is an American teenager for whom his job is something important that he doesn’t want to give up even to spend time with his family by the sea.
His mother shared this story on the community website Reddit to gauge people’s opinions on the matter.
She posted a fairly lengthy post describing the situation her son found himself in.
She explained that she had three sons, with the oldest one having a part-time job as a lifeguard at a swimming pool, a job he loved very much.
However, as the family went on vacation every year, it was time to go again. Since her son had been working for a month and a half, his boss refused to grant him time off.
That’s why the mother offered her son to quit his job to go on vacation with the family.
“We forced him to go together. We said he could find several such jobs when he returned. He protested, but we forced him,” the mother explained.
The boy had to lose his job and went against his will. But during that whole time, he was angry. He couldn’t forgive his parents and refused to listen to them.
The woman explained that it wasn’t a lack of trust in her son, and they could have left him alone for a few days. However, in her opinion, her son shouldn’t prioritize his job over his family.
When the teenager returned from vacation, he was able to find a new job within a few days.
Despite everything, he couldn’t forget his parents’ behavior and was still upset because he felt his decision hadn’t been respected.
