Macaulay Culkin, the star of the popular “Home Alone” movies, has been a celebrity since his childhood. Everyone knew his name and recognized his face when he was younger.
At 14, the child star met Rachel Miner. They were both students at the Professional Children’s School in New York at the time.
Rachel didn’t immediately feel sympathy for the actor. But over time, he won her heart.
Their relationship was very difficult. They broke up three times. Macaulay recalls how he finally convinced her to marry him:
“She had broken up with me three times already, so the last time I told her: Marry me right now before you leave me again.”
Rachel accepted, and on June 21, 1998, they married in a modest, understated ceremony in a stone chapel in Connecticut.
The guest list included only 60 people, and none of them received printed invitations. Instead, the couple had a deceptive trick to invite guests and outsmart the media.
Unfortunately, the newfound happiness of the couple was short-lived. When they were planning to spend their first Christmas together, a fire broke out in their house.
The fire spread quickly, tragically claiming the lives of four neighbors. A lengthy legal battle followed. Macaulay’s small family fell apart, and he blamed himself.
Although the actor had been struggling with his problems lately, he never returned to the public eye.
Rumors of suspected and exposed drug addiction also contributed to his isolation. The star spoke about his failed marriage:
“I had to learn how to speak and communicate, and I had to do that a lot more.”
Unlike many child actors, Macaulay managed to escape drug addiction and didn’t even go to a club until his twenties.
He often said he felt he had to avoid the usual pitfalls of fame because so many people expected him to stumble somewhere.
Macaulay withdrew from the world. He passionately avoided the public eye and preferred the safety and privacy of his home.
Finally, after spending years out of the spotlight, he realized he needed to return to what he loved most. That’s how the actor began working on the play “Madame Melville” again.
Macaulay, like many London critics, expected his performance to be terrible.
Instead, his performance was considered one of the best. Macaulay’s return to the stage didn’t give him what he wanted.
In 2017, Macaulay played in a movie by his friend and met his future love on set.
“Look at me: I have money, fame, a beautiful girlfriend, a beautiful house, and beautiful pets.”
And shortly after they started living together, Macaulay and Brenda learned that they were expecting a baby. Brenda gave birth to a healthy son named Dakota Song Culkin on April 5, 2021.
