However, soon it will become common to hear the joyful laughter of children echoing through the halls of Orange County Children’s Hospital, located in the city of Orange.
This will become possible thanks to the collaboration between Honda and the hospital to create a unique electric car designed especially for children!
Meet “Shogo”, a word that comes from Japanese and means “to fly into the future”. This electric car was designed with the aim of bringing bright and joyful moments to children facing serious illnesses during their hospital stay.
“Shogo” was completely developed by Honda engineers, and they are very proud of it. This car will be used in the hospital instead of traditional wheelchairs.
Now patients can self-drive to their treatments in different parts of the hospital, making them look forward to these procedures rather than dreading them.
“As someone who spent his childhood in the hospital, it was really important to me that our team’s main goal in creating ‘Shogo’ was to alleviate the challenges children face in the hospital , providing them with unforgettable positive memories of this experience,” shared the lead designer of the vehicle body.
“Every element of “Shogo” has been designed with the diverse needs of young children in mind, making it easy for them to get in and out, making driving as simple as possible, so that the whole experience leaves a positive impression on them . »
Inside the car there is a specially designed holder for IV drips, a space dedicated to toys and a horn with different sound effects. Plus, kids have the option to create their own personalized license plates for the built-in holder.
