Social media has many advantages, but it also has disadvantages that worry some parents a lot.
A mother from Minnesota (USA) named Lorna Goldstrand Klefsaas did not want her son Sievert to use social networks too often, but she was not going to just forbid him and found another way to distract the child from the smartphone.
When Sievert was 12, his mother made a bet with him that he would forget about social media until adulthood and then receive a prize for it – $1,800.
The child accepted the challenge and excluded social media from his life for six whole years.
“In general, I am not against social networks, but I am for their healthy use. People shouldn’t depend on them,” explained Sivert’s mother Lorna.
Six years have passed without any problems or nervous breakdowns due to the lack of social networks, because before the bet, Sievert had not yet had time to get used to it and did not think that much was missing by not not using them.
When the guy turned 18, he completed the task given by his mother and received his silver trophy.
