“When a 30-year-old officer lost his life in the line of duty, many cops whose lives he had touched in one way or another came to escort his daughter on her first day of kindergarten to honor him. It didn’t matter that the veteran had passed away months earlier.

August 8, 2022, might have been an ordinary day for many people on planet Earth, but for Anna, it was a significant milestone. It was the very first day she started her studies, joining her kindergarten class.

All parents hope to be there to witness such milestones, but Anna’s father, Police Lieutenant Kevin Stolinsky, couldn’t make it this time. The proud father passed away in November 2021 after a medical emergency while on duty.

Kevin Stolinsky was a veteran with over two decades of experience in La Vergne. He had created memories, bonds, and his own family over those years.

He was a great man to most, but no one will miss him more than his daughter Anna and her mother, Casey Stolinsky.

His memories linger in the minds of all those he left behind. That’s why those who had worked closely with him and knew how much he loved his child decided to make an appearance on her first day of kindergarten.

It was a thoughtful decision that melted many hearts and left little Anna feeling bittersweet.

The officers escorted Anna to her school, and upon their arrival, the officers, all from several departments, surrounded Anna from both sides as she headed towards the building’s entrance.

The little girl was dressed for school in a red top, beige skirt, a pair of long white socks, and sneakers. Her grandmother and mother were present, and later, they watched little Anna salute all the officers as she walked along the line.

There were also many hugs exchanged, and the positive atmosphere reflected on Anna’s face as she absorbed all the attention and love.

It was a beautiful send-off, and Anna’s mother was very grateful. She said, ‘It was a very, very special day. All those officers had come to support my husband’s memory.’

The gesture was undoubtedly very thoughtful; nevertheless, it left Anna with a bittersweet feeling. According to her, it made her cry in sadness because it reminded her of her late father and the fact that she could never see him again.”
