When he expressed his dissatisfaction about sitting next to an overweight passenger, a traveler claims that a crew member forced him to leave the plane.
An 18-year-old traveler shared a post on Reddit recounting how he found that an overweight passenger had occupied a significant portion of his seat during a 12-hour flight.
He mentioned that after reporting the issue to the flight attendant, she stated that all passengers had already settled into their seats and it was not possible to make any changes since the plane was full.
He then questioned her and complained about the poor quality of service from the airline. In response, she labeled him as rude and ejected him from the plane.
The boy reported, “I was heading to my hometown and noticed that an overweight individual was encroaching on a significant portion of my seat during this 12-hour journey.”
“I don’t consider myself to be small. A regular seat is already uncomfortable for me as my shoulders are broad and I’m 190 cm tall.
When I brought the situation to the attention of the flight attendant, she explained that the plane was full and the overweight passenger had paid for their seat.
I asked the flight attendant why the airline allowed someone else to occupy my seat despite their size. I then added that the quality of service from the airline had significantly deteriorated compared to a few years ago.
After my words, the flight attendant reprimanded me for my lack of consideration and asked me to leave the plane.
However, she assured me that I would be reimbursed for the inconvenience I experienced.
The overweight man took the opportunity to hurl profanities at me. People nearby expressed their disapproval through their glances.
I am aware that people have an unfavorable opinion of me regarding this, however, on the other hand, I am forced to suffer the consequences of another person’s lack of consideration and the ineffective booking system of this airline.”
His story sparked outrage among internet users, with one of them labeling him as “irresponsible” for how he handled the situation.
One person expressed, “You could have expressed your opinion without demeaning the passenger sitting next to you or the airline. Your pride only grew higher.”
Other comments were less harsh toward his actions, stating, “If a person cannot comfortably fit into one seat, they should be required to purchase an additional seat.”
