Everyone has a noble financial goal. Sunshine Oelfk, a lovely five-year-old girl, had been saving money in a piggy bank for some time, like other kids her age.
The young girl seemed to be setting money aside for a future purchase.
Sunshine didn’t inform her grandmother of her plan to save the world, so Jackie Oelfke naturally became curious.
When the little girl realized it was time to empty her piggy bank, the answer came to her.
She promised to bring milk to class. She looked at me and said, “My friend’s mom doesn’t have money for milk, but I do.”
After hearing her 5-year-old granddaughter’s remark, Jackie was struck by her maturity and compassion.
Jackie worked hard to keep her emotions in check. Instead of wasting her grandmother’s money on frivolous things like clothes or jewelry, she gave it to others in need.
Sunshine’s warmth and compassion captured audiences around the world.
Inspired by the outpouring of support for her and Sunshine from the online community, Jackie decided to launch a GoFundMe campaign to help Sunshine’s cause reach even more people.
Indeed, perfect strangers made donations to the GoFundMe campaign so that every student could have milk.
Sunshine’s classmates and companions will have unlimited access to milk thanks to her kindness, and Miss Rita’s heart won’t break every time she has to turn down a student.
Her class now has more than enough milk to keep everyone from going hungry during their studies.
