When Georgia resident Tara Wood went to the grocery store with her four-year-old daughter, Nora, she had no idea it would change someone’s life, and maybe even save them.
Georgia resident Tara Wood and her four-year-old daughter Nora came to the local supermarket to buy cakes. But the candy didn’t stop there.
Noticing the old man standing alone, Nora happily turned to him: “Hello sir! It’s my birthday today! » The man, looking sullen and tense, smiled kindly at this greeting and asked, “Well, how old are you?” »
Nora had a little chat with the old man and asked her mother to take a photo of her with her new friend – Mr. Dan. Kissing goodbye, they each went their own way.
Posting a photo of her daughter with a new acquaintance on her social media page, Tara quickly learned from mutual acquaintances that the name of Nora’s new friend was Dan Peterson and that he was 82 years old. We told him something else…
It turned out that Dan Peterson had been a widower six months earlier. After the death of his wife, he became depressed.
As Peterson’s acquaintances told Tara Wood, in the photo with her daughter, Dan smiled for the first time in many months.
Moved by this story, Tara contacted Dan Peterson. From that moment on, an unusual friendship developed between “Mr. Dan” and four-year-old Nora.
“This girl showed me how deep love can be. I didn’t even know such depth! » Dan Peterson admits. Two unusual friends happily eat cake together.
Give each other stuffed toys and just hug each other with joy. Dan Peterson admitted to Tara Wood that before meeting the girl, he constantly suffered from insomnia, but now, communicating with Nora, he began to sleep like a kid.
For Mr Dan’s birthday, Tara and Nora Wood brought the pensioner a gift, a bouquet of balloons – and, of course, their favorite cakes. Additionally, Mr. Peterson celebrated Thanksgiving with the Wood family.
“If you take the time to pay attention to the person nearby, you can suddenly change their life for the better,” says Tara Wood.
